The new Real Madrid [home] kit stands out for its sleek design. Gold is the chosen color for the details, including the adidas logo and the three stripes; a brand new feature which represents the many successes in the clubs history. For the first time since its foundation, the club has decided to include gold in the design of its uniforms. Players’ names and numbers will be golden too, matching the details on the jersey.

The badge has an innovative 3-D design, which reduces the weight of the garment, giving it an added feature. This jersey gets back to the classic polo collar, which carries the initials of the club on the reverse side.

Shorts and socks have the same classic lines as the jersey and include the  initials of the club:”RM”.  This jersey features adidas’ exclusive Climacool(tm) Technology which ensures body temperature control and ventilation, thanks to the use of technically advanced fabrics.

Chelea’s away kit includes turquoise squares are on a black background to create a striking design, while the shorts also feature a turquoise strip and the famous three adidas stripes in white. The socks include a revolutionary design that features anatomically placed cushioning and an Achilles protector.  The playing shirt features the adidas TechFit(tm) technology which will help
improve speed, increased endurance capabilities and enhanced awareness. This works by stabilizing and focusing the muscles’ energy to generate explosive acceleration and deliver maximum power output.

The replica shirt incorporates adidas Climacool(tm) technology, a mixture of  heat and moisture controlling materials, ventilation channels and 3D fabrics which improve air flow to the skin in the key heat zones.

The new kit will be worn for the first time when Chelsea play Hong Kong champions Kitchee in their opening game of the Barclays Asia Trophy on July 27.

Somewhere between innovation and tradition, true to the style of adidas and AC Milan – for the 2011/12 jersey, the three-stripe label has decided to combine its most innovative technology with a design reminiscent of the Rossoneri strips of the early twentieth century.

The launch, too, was structured along the same lines – journalists from the traditional media and bloggers gathered at adidas Italy’s Brand Center in Monza but Milan fans from across Italy and the world were also able to attend the unveiling of the new strip and to ask the guests in attendance questions by means of live streaming at adidas.com.

My passion as a player was largely driven by dreams. Personal success and satisfaction was the ultimate goal.  My motives as a coach are different. I want to see kids enjoying soccer. That is my desire. They should be learning and aspiring to reach the highest level that their ability, focus and opportunities will allow.

Soccer is such a vibrant sport that captivates a huge audience. I love the way it brings families together. It’s so inclusive and can be enjoyed by all.  The culture and carnival like atmosphere at many tournaments could be described as an art form and theatre.

I don’t believe that many sports can rival soccers pace and freedom. They instead often have too many rules and an over reliance on tactics. Thus losing a certain dynamism, energy and magic.

No other passion of mine can be enjoyed 24/7 on the street, back yard or college field. There is no need for expensive equipment, teams or referees. I was happiest when practicing soccer with my brother before, during and after school. My dad would join in too. I always wanted to make him proud of the way I played. I can vividly remember the first pair of boots he bought me – such an exciting moment!

Soccer will always play a powerful and emotional role in my life. It’s popularity and Universal appeal will continue to grow.  I will keep working hard to coach the next generation. This is the best way I can give something back to a sport that has provided me with so much.

It’s not all about us, though. In true PUMA fashion, with an eye on both engaging and empowering the female soccer community, the brand is giving consumers a voice. Launching July 31, PUMA is hosting a forum at wps.pumafootball.com/projectpink that invites interaction with the Project Pink initiative. The site allows for the nomination of breast cancer charities with nonprofit status; supporters can then log on to vote for the winner, who will ultimately receive a donation consisting of 100% of the profits from the sale of PUMA Project Pink product. In an effort to drive additional awareness to the cause, the brand will be using the Twitter hash tag #projectpink when communicating updates about Project Pink and will also encourage fans creating content to do the same. For every tweet using the hash tag from July 31 through October 18, PUMA will donate an additional $1 to the Project Pink cause, up to a maximum of $25,000. As a father of 3 boys, it was important to me to get them involved in athletics early in life through a variety of sports programs.  I taught them how to swim, and to play golf and tennis, but then I realized team sports are important too.  So I introduced them to the “All-American” sports of baseball and basketball and coached their youth teams.  However, it was AYSO soccer that was to become their favorite sport.

I asked them why they preferred soccer over other sports, especially baseball, and they told me they didn’t like the “razzing” and heckling they got from the players and spectators and the criticism from their coaches.  Soccer was a positive experience and everyone plays.  This of course is the motto of AYSO soccer and the secret of their success.

I didn’t know much about the game, but since my sons wanted to play soccer and they needed adult coaches; I was drawn into world of soccer.  I soon completed the beginning, intermediate, and advanced soccer coaches training.  The 3 day soccer camp for my advanced certificate was pretty intense, but I hung in there.  I learned a lot from experienced coaches and from the players during soccer practices and games during the season.  It was fun and I enjoyed being with my sons.

When my sons got older and went on to play club soccer and on high school teams, I thought I was done coaching.  That’s when my eight year old daughter asked me, “Well, aren’t you going to coach my soccer team, dad ?”  I forgot to mention my fourth child and only daughter.  Well, how could I say no to her.  She was brought up around the soccer field, and with three older brothers playing sports, she was a natural.

Coaching girls soccer was new to me and I learned quickly, very different.  Girls play with emotion, like the social interaction, and want to have FUN.  They are competitive, eager to learn, enjoy playing and having fun with their teammates on and off the field.  I had to be very positive in my coaching and watch for hurt feelings.  Rebuking at times but then showing more concern and interest in their success lest they become discouraged.  I never had so much fun coaching.

The girls always wanted to celebrate a team members birthday with cupcakes or ice-cream bars at practice.  Parents were very supportive of snacks at a game, yard sale fundraisers to pay for tournaments, pizza parties, and a swim party at my home during the season.  Of course, we always had a year end party to award trophies and for me to present and speak highly of each player in front of their parents, friends, and family.

Now I am completing my 25th year coaching soccer at 61 years of age and coaching my 18 year old daughter’s U-19 team.  And although she has played four years of high school soccer and on the Varsity team, my daughter, Lindy, still wants to play AYSO with her many friends.  To the moms and dads that want to have a unique experience with their children, I have only one thing to pass on: The game of soccer, you’ve got to love it, positively!!

This game has always been a part of me.  I was a one sport kid cutting every picture out of the Eurosport catalog and hanging it on my wall (especially the Americans).  Soccer was my passion growing up.  It was what defined me.  I can remember when calle [street soccer] first emerged in Utah, probably around my junior year of high school.  This was something that was perfectly in sync with my life philosophy.  My business is keeping the goal, but I have never been afraid to pull out the smooth rainbow on a defender in a street game, or nutmeg a striker trying to steal a goal on a back pass (ole’), or step up the spot and convert the 5th PK only to have the pressure of stopping the next shot for the win.  Nothing seems sweeter than duping players with my foot skill as they are outmaneuvered by the man with the gloves on.

Trying to think of a specific story that was my most exciting or most memorable moment is pretty tough.  Some of the stories that come to mind are:

• A run of great skill from my crew and I to the make final of the first annual Calle [Republic] tournament co-hosted by RSL, and miss out on being introduced at half time RSL game the next day
• Upsetting 3 #1 seeds in the state tournament senior year of HS to make the final; winning two of the games in shoot-outs
• Shutting out 5 straight victories to qualify for nationals in College and make it to the final 16 for the first time in school history only to loose 7-0 after a 1,690.45 mi bus ride. (that is right 1,690.45 I Map Quested it)

All great times; all memories I will carry for the rest of my life.  I am two weeks away from my soccer helping me pay for a college degree and facing the world without an organized team for the first time I can remember.  Soccer is just as much a part of me as it has ever been.  I will never stop!  Nothing can keep [me] from doing what I love.  I hope to have more heartbreaks and triumphs in the streets and on the pitch at every level of play.  NBD Never Back Down!!  GK UT=>NE  SLC=>OMA

It all started in the early 1980′s while serving as a missionary in Chile, South America.  During my year and a half there I never saw a grass soccer field.  They were all dirt!  I wondered why.  It finally came to me that grass just could not grow when the fields got so much use.  Many of the players had no shoes, but this didn’t seem to matter.  The sport looked simple enough, so I began to join in.  I soon gained a great respect for what these kids could do with their feet.  I found that after a year and a half I could barely keep up with kids between the ages of 10 and 12.  I was 23 at the time!

When I returned home to the US, I found a group of mostly Hispanics playing “Baby Football” ([futsal] played on a basketball sized court) at the local YMCA.  I was the worst players out there!  Within a few years an adult league was forming and I was asked to play Keeper.  I had good hands from my High School [American] Football days.  It took years, but I was invited to play on the field and found that I was a decent defender.  One day, a top club asked me to join their team as a defender.  I was honored, and felt that all my soccer aspirations had materialized.  They actually wanted ME to play for them.

About this time, my children were getting old enough to play.  I decided to lend a hand as an Assistant Coach.  I found that I knew much more about the sport than many of the other AYSO coaches, and was one of the few that had ever played, or was now playing.  My boys were very athletic, and were willing to put forth a great effort.  I felt like I needed to clone them and have them all over the field… but soon learned that if I could help the other players around them improve, we could work better as a team.

That became my philosophy: “Take each of the players on the team, and leave them better than I found them.”  I concentrated on teaching them the basics many times, because bad habits had not been recognized or corrected in the past.  Some of these young kids were like “old dogs” that didn’t want to learn any new tricks.  Slowly but surely they began to trust and listen to me.  My favorite player is the one that will take instruction and try to implement it.  I have had some less talented players who would do whatever they were asked to do.  And, I prefer them to the very talented player that will not listen.  Over the years, we developed several championship teams, and saw a lot of growth among the players.  Over time the kids recognize that it isn’t just kicking a ball.  There can be so much more to it.  The more they learned, the more they realized they still needed to master.  This is a sport that just gets better and better.  I love every aspect of the game.. from playing, to coaching, to watching great soccer on TV.  With the World Cup right around the corner, we just got our cable turned on and the only reason is to watch the greatest game ever played.  We will turn it back off once a champion is named.

I now have the pleasure of playing adult league soccer with 4 of my oldest children.. They now coach me!
